Arabic Language Study

Arabic 101- The Arabic language can be broken down into three different catagories. Fus-ha (classical Arabic) Modern Standard Arabic (MSA or journalistic Arabic) and (9)amiyyah (colloquial dialects of Arabic)

Learn the basics online with a live teacher of reading and writing and speaking. We will begin with Fus-ha reading and writing skills and later lead you on the path to learning the MSA and (9)amiyyah.

Arabic 101: We use a unique approach designed especially for English speakers to begin learning the Arabic language. We will study the difference between the types of Arabic, examine their proper uses and begin studying the Levan (Syrian, Lebanese, North Jordan and Palestinian) dialect of Arabic and give a basic introduction to Iraqi dialects.

1) Alphabet and Pronunciation, Vowels, Sun Letters, Shadda, Sukuun, Hamza,Taa Marbuuta, Transliteration and Helping Vowels

2) Numerals, Singular, Dual, Plural, Days of the Week, Months, Time and Tenses

3) Verb Conjugation, Irregular Verbs and Verb Sentences 

4) Syntax and Sentence Structure, the Imperative and Possesion

5) Vocabulary

The price of Arabic 101 is $10 per hour and the course is 18 hours long. Your price is only $180.00 Courses are available beginning August 25th, 2009 and run every Tuesday night from 7-8 PM CST and 8:30-9:30 PM CST. Classes will be limited in size to 10 per class to maximize efffectiveness. Work scholarships are available to qualified individuals.
